The National Education Forum (NEF) is a coalition of national associations of practising educators and parents created in 1992 with a view to enhancing their individual and collective capacity to respond to national education policy, issues, initiatives and directions.

The purpose of the NEF is to monitor and provide a rigorous critique of current educational policy and practice by providing a forum through which national associations can maintain a critical appraisal of developments in Australian education.

Our aims are to enhance the capacity of national associations, individually and collectively to respond to national policy, issues, initiatives and directions. To construct joint statements of policy, issues and principles in education from time to time, and to promote communication and collaboration between member associations.
